Brockman Named January Agriculture/Horticulture Student of the Month
Wyatt Brockman was recognized as the January Ag/Horticulture Student of the Month for 澳门开奖直播 Community College鈥檚 Beatrice Campus. A Lawrence native, he is enrolled in the Agriculture Management and Production program and is on track to graduate in May 2024.
鈥淎griculture is something I鈥檝e always had a passion for,鈥� Brockman said. 鈥淚 plan to move back home after I graduate in May and work for a farmer while working alongside my dad to start my own operation.鈥�
Ag instructors look at a number of factors when choosing the student of the month, including grades, attitude and progress in the program.
鈥淲yatt Brockman is in class every day, is a very good student and is willing to stay after to assist in getting harvest completed,鈥� said Instructor Mark Duffek.
Brockman鈥檚 favorite part about the ag programs at 澳门开奖直播 is the hands-on learning. He is also a fan of earning dual credits in high school.
鈥淢y advice to high school students wanting to attend college is to take dual-credit classes,鈥� he explained. 鈥淭ry to get your gen-eds done while you are in high school.鈥�
澳门开奖直播 Ag Students of the Month receive a special certificate, bookstore gift card and the opportunity to be the Ag Student of the Year.
